The 30 Days of Truth List
Welcome to my blog! In the fall of 2010, I was searching for some blogging inspiration and found the list below from Avitable. Since then more than 80 people have participated.
It took me three months to complete all the prompts. Some I liked more than others. You don’t have to do them all. Choose the ones that inspire you and write like no-one is reading. If you’d like to get ideas, you can click on every prompt below to see my own answers. Thanks for reading, now get to truth-ing!

Day 01 : Something you hate about yourself.
Day 02 : Something you love about yourself.
Day 03 : Something you have to forgive yourself for.
Day 04 : Something you have to forgive someone for.
Day 05 : Something you hope to do in your life.
Day 06 : Something you hope you never have to do.
Day 07 : Someone who has made your life worth living for.
Day 08 : Someone who made your life hell, or treated you like shit.
Day 09 : Someone you didn’t want to let go, but just drifted.
Day 10 : Someone you need to let go, or wish you didn’t know.
Day 11 : Something people seem to compliment you the most on.
Day 12 : Something you never get compliments on.
Day 13 : A band or artist that has gotten you through some tough ass days. (write a letter.)

Day 18 : Your views on gay marriage.
Day 19 : What do you think of religion? Or what do you think of politics?
Day 20 : Your views on drugs and alcohol.
Day 21 : (scenario) Your best friend is in a car accident and you two got into a fight an hour before. What do you do?
Day 22 : Something you wish you hadn’t done in your life.
Day 23 : Something you wish you had done in your life.

Thanks for the list, I’ll be participating!
Yea! I look forward to reading!
I just found your post on day 2 and I’m going to try this. Like you, it may not be in order, but I’m giving it a try. Thanks for the thought-provoking blog.
You’re most welcome! Good luck!
This is a lovely idea. I’ll definitely be trying it. :)
i just stumbled here and this is an awesome idea. this came at such a great time for me. i look forward to reading the rest of your blog. love.
I know what I would choose for 29: I would lose the desire to change myself at all (I would lose the thinking that there’s anything wrong with me). I want to be as comfortable with/about myself, as I was when I was five. And as happy. I was at peace, because of my confidence in myself and the world around me (confidence that was eventually crushed).
I too just stumbled across your blog and LOVE THIS IDEA OF 30 days of truths. I mean, love it! I will start this tomorrow. Can’t wait to share and see what everyone else is saying about their truths as well.
Thanks for this fantastic idea and love the blog. You can find me at http://americanbridget@blogspot.com
best,

Vince Vaughn once said in a comedy “that is my truth” I thought it was one of the funniest lines ever. Our truths change probably daily, but this is a great way to record what your truth of the day, season, month, year might be.
I’ll be participating…and reading more through this snug little spot.
Yea, Vince Vaughn is right. ‘Our truths’ are relative.
Thanks for stopping by and good luck!
What a fabulous idea. I am going to try it too, thank you.

Hi there! Came across your blog through Kyla Roma :) I love this list & I’m loving your posts about it! I may steal it from you and get through it myself!
Hmmm. This is an interesting idea. I also saw this on another blog. I think i’ll start doing it too. Looks like fun :)
Hope, I love your blog and have been silently following for a couple of years now. Your crush on surfer Man was chillingly like something I was going through. Its now so nice to step out of that anguish and into the sunshine that is not that same anguish anymore isn;t it? There is actually very little pleasure in having a crush. When i am down I remind myself,”Well, at least i dont feel like that anymore”. Always works. Anyway, my point is, I used to follow you by reading your most recent entries and then checking in with you almost every day to see what you had written as you were arranged chronologically and not by topic. I liked that as I love the chronology of journeys and growth. So now I am lost. What is the best way to navigate your new design? It is beautiful, by the way…modern, clean and captivating. Thank you. I adore your writings.
sorry, I just assumed surfer persona, I don’t think you actually ever said it. I think the fact he was from Austraila, had dirty blond hair, a playful and noncommittal insouciance about him and his dalliances with women….that I made a leap and thought “surfer dude”. Huge leap, as you can see.
I hate the fact that I am so willing to take the blame for things that I am not responsible for because I have the need to never hold those that I love accountable. I hate that I feel the need to suffer for someone just to demonstrate my love toward them. I hate that I have a tendency to teach people to treat me poorly through my inability to accept their love for me and doing nice things for me. In essence, I hate the crippling things that I once saw as marks of my submissive nature. I now see them as a mark of my belief that I am unworthy of love and deserving of punishment and suffering. To summarize: What I hate about myself if the way I believe I deserve to be treated and how I find ways to manipulate people into treating me that way.
I am working hard to break this cycle, but it is what I hate about myself.
I have also jumped on the bandwagon, and am 11 days through this month of truth :)
So, I’m a bit late in discovering this but I have just started this, here’s hoping I can actually answer the positive questions…

Hello,
I am embarking on this challenge! I was wondering if I could use your pictures of these prompts? For example the “something you hate about yourself” graphic? I have linked back to this page in my blog regarding the challenge.
Thanks,
Katherine
