“You know it must be really hard for guys. Planning a proposal. Think of all the pressure that is put on them. They have to surprise you, they have to make it special. I think we probably need to lower our expectations and give them a little bit of a break.”
“I don’t think so. After all, I’m the one whose going to have to carry a baby for nine months AND give birth to it.”
***
“I told your brother about our proposal/giving birth conversation and he was all, “Oh for crying out loud! I am so sick of women pulling the ‘Yea? Well we have to give birth’ card.”
“Hmm. Maybe he is right. Maybe we do use it too much.”
“Yea, we do.”
“We should probably only be allowed to use it three times a year.Because otherwise it would be like,”Honey, YOU get the remote because I’M THE ONE WHOSE GOING TO GIVE BIRTH. Hypothetically. At some point. In the future. If this relationship works out. You know…”

I think the birth card is always called for.
I think woman need to come to the realization that they were saddled with the genetic burden of child birth and that it isn’t any mans fault.
If you can play the “we have to give birth” card…. Men should be able to play the “We have to put up with you bitching about giving birth” card…
But of course that would go over terribly and I would just end up with a black eye!
My husband and I discussed this. I told him that all men had to do was say, “I do,” and women had to go through planning the wedding, changing their name (and all of the forms with that–if they are changing their name, anyway) and being pregnant for nine months plus giving birth.
I think it’s called for sometimes.
My husband pulls the “I have to go to work all day so you do it” card so I will pull the birthing card
HAHAHAHAHA….I think this is absolutely hilarious. I gotta try that sometime!
I never got a proposal so… there goes my excuse!
whether its a mans fault or not that we have to go through nine months of extra weight, extreme but EXTREME bloating, swelling whatever you want to call it, the truth is that we were given the ‘honor’ of giving birth, so to all you men out there “sit and listen to it now”
You can always use the period card for lesser occasions, and save the birth for the big ones.
we have to deal with man flu. thats bad enough!
Unfortunately after a hysterectomy that card is no longer valid…lol
ya i think this is all bullshit….
last night i went WITH my boyfriend to the jewellery store to look at rings so that he wont pick out anything ugly.
all he has to do is freak the living shit out of me which he is quite good at. I think for him, proposing is going to be like a Punk’d episode.
totally agree with princess pointful!!!
