My good friend T and I have, for a couple of weeks now, been attending
a Pilates Reformer class. It is tough and challenging and there is a woman in our class who does not look a day over 30. She is actually 38 with three children and has a tighter body than the both of us have ever had. Seriously. This makes me want to sit on my wobbly single buttocks and scoff down ten bags of crisps and then wipe away my tears with my crumb infested, pudgy fingers.
But, it also convinces me that Pilates must work. So T and I, have both invested our hard earned euros and our precious free time and have committed to giving this a whirl. Our instructor is good humored about our general lack of fitness and has not made fun of my inflexibility . Yet. Plus, he actually gets sexual innuendo (and giggles along) which is a must in any person who asks me to put my legs in the air and then contort them in ways that only a handful of men have ever seen me do. Sometimes, my humor is like that of a thirteen year old boy. Especially when I am in compromising positions without actually being in a compromising position.
Which is why I giggled naughtily after hearing this conversation take place between our instructor and T last night as I was lying on my back trying to perfect a bizarre frog-like maneuver.

T (finishing an exercise): That was boring.
Instructor: The next one is going to be much harder.
T: I didn’t mean it was easy. I just meant that it was boring.
Instructor: Well, aren’t they all actually boring?
T: No, not all of them. Some of them are really fun.
Instructor: Which ones?
T: I love the ones where I have to open my legs.

In her defense, those positions really are the best ones.

i bet you look really cool with your gym outfit!!!
XAXAXAXAXAXAXAXA!!!Seriously dudes! Hope, that sounds so much like T…While reading the post, I could actually hear her! What did the instructor say?
I was far too busy laughing to pay attention. I think he said something like, “Oooooooh-kaaaaaaaaaay then.”
Ask T for confirmation on that though. :)
HAHA!!!!!! That was hysterical. She sounds just like a good friend of mine.
I’ve been dying to try one of those reformer classes – maybe I should! Although it definitely sounds like I need to bring a friend along. Hehe.

Another reminder that I need to start exercising soon, to have fun moments like this.
